Working to protect independent farmers, ranchers, and homesteaders in Texas and nationwide

FARFA works to protect your food supply and your rights.  Based in Texas, we have members in 44 states. Our members recognize the need for independent agriculture to have a voice in the legislatures to counter industrial agribusiness.  Whether you are a farmer or a rancher, a consumer of local or organic foods, or someone who cares about protecting our rights and traditional freedoms, the Farm and Ranch Freedom Alliance is working for you!

Membership is just $10 to join at the grassroots level and get our e-newsletter.  Join at the associate level ($35) and get our quarterly hard copy newsletter.  More members = more voice at the capitol!

Becoming a member of FARFA helps the fight against the NAIS.  Your membership fees help fund FARFA's work - but even more importantly, more members means the government pays more attention to what we have to say.  When FARFA testifies to a legislative committee or speaks with legislative staffers, we are always asked "How many members do you have?"  In other words, the politicians wanted to know why they should listen to us.  We have the truth and facts on our side.  BUT WE NEED MEMBERS TO CONVINCE THE LEGISLATORS THAT THEY SHOULD LISTEN TO THOSE FACTS!

And, of course, we need money to continue our education and lobbying efforts.  Special thanks go to the new members who joined during February and March 2008, who enabled us to meet the $1,000 matching grant for new members!

FARFA's work extends across the country.  We:

  • Lobby Congress.  Our Executive Director travels regularly to DC to lobby, and we have a DC lobbyist who consults during critical moments.
  • Research and develop informational materials.  Check out the downloads on our Take Action page, including the popular "Top 10 Myths".
  • Distribute materials to the public and legislators.  To date, we have distributed over a quarter of a million pages!
  • Work directly with legislators to develop bills for both State legislatures and Congress
  • Have booths at fairs and events to explain NAIS in person.  We've had booths at events in Colorado, Kentucky, Minnesota, Nebraska, South Dakota, Virginia, Texas, and Tennessee
  • Provide advice and materials to people in every state to educate the public, organize meetings, pass county-level resolutions, and lobby state legislators
  • Host public meetings to inform local communities as a true grassroots efforts.  Some of our meetings have drawn over 200 people and received both newspaper and television coverage
  • Write articles for publications to reach those who do not have internet access

HELP US TO CONTINUE AND EXPAND THESE EFFORTS!  We have to reach the thousands of people who are only hearing one side of the issue!

What will it cost you if the NAIS is implemented?

Those who joined as Lifetime Members within the first six months became our "Founding Members".  Special thanks to the following Founding Members for your early, visionary support:

William Epperson Ranches
Anchor Valley Ranch
Liz Kincaid
Gary Russell
Tropical Traditions

We are gaining momentum in this fight, but we have a long way to go.  Please help us to continue this important work by joining today.
